About The Book

The expression "Jehovah himself has become king" appears in numerous places in the New World Translation of the Bible (Published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society). Jehovah becoming king has to do with the ultimate establishment of Christ's kingdom.

As odd as it may seem to those unfamiliar, Jehovah's Witnesses earnestly believe and teach that Jehovah became king back in 1914. Over the years the Watchtower has developed an elaborate eschatology based upon the premise that Christ's world-conquering kingdom came to power in that year.

This work is the culmination of approximately 10 years of intense Bible study--particularly of the Hebrew prophets--coupled with a thorough examination and comparison of the Watchtower's teachings. It is intended to assist Jehovah's Witnesses to reason upon many of our long-held assumptions, such as the idea that the so-called "Gentile times" have already expired and that Satan was cast down from heaven in 1914. Among other things, the teaching that Babylon the Great fell in 1919 and that the beast of Revelation has already emerged from a symbolic abyss are also held up to scriptural scrutiny; as is the notion that Jehovah's Witnesses are living in the biblically foretold spiritual paradise.

It is also the author's unhappy duty to expose the organization's hypocrisy to the reading public due to the fact that from 1992-2001 the Watchtower knowingly engaged in political partnership with the United Nations as an NGO.

Whereas, a significant portion of the Watchtower's voluminous prophetic exegesis focuses Jehovah's denunciation upon Christendom, in recognition of the fact that God judged Israel and Judah because they bore his name before the ancient world, this work endeavors to shift the light of prophecy from Christendom so as to shine it upon the organization that bears God's name before the modern world--Jehovah's Witnesses.
